About Amos

Amos Gazit met the sea over 35 years ago, during his life's journey for physical and mental rehabilitation following his third and last injury in the Yom Kippur War (the previous two times, during raids across the Suez Canal, in the War of Attrition) - a meeting that led to a personal journey of observation, study and action in conservation, restoration and development of the tropical marine environment and those living in it, from it and alongside it.

He spent countless hours diving among coral reefs, walking along the shore, and meeting people whose lives and livelihoods depend on the sea and its environment - Studying and documenting the marine environment and participating in international efforts to rehabilitate it from the ravages of civilization.

Over 35 years, Amos has served as a member of various conservation and research organizations - primarily in countries and islands in Southeast Asia, South Caribbean, and USA – Developing, implementing, and promoting programs that combined ecological, environmental, economic, and social development with academic and research activities.

Led by his imagination, moral values and creativity, Amos has documented over the years the sights, colors, movement and sensations of the sea and its natural ability, and almost precisely, to undergo a process of self-healing of overcoming and regenerating from severe injuries, as Amos experienced.

Printed on canvas, tempered glass, aluminum, and rocks - His works are presented in exhibitions, galleries, applied in interior and exterior design (murals, furniture, gardens, and pools) and are integrated in an underwater instalment (built of natural rocks) that helps preserve and restore the marine and coastal environment.

His works have been exhibited in individual and group exhibitions in Israel, Italy, and the United States, and have been published in articles, books, and art sites around the world.
